CBR STUDENTS AWARDED AT THE II INTERNATIONAL SOUTHERN POETRY MEETING 2016.
• November 13th 2016 | Olhão
Within the scope of the II International Southern Poetry Meeting 2016, the Municipality of Olhão promoted the competition "João Lúcio School Award for Poetry" for young 7th to 9th grade students in the Municipality of Olhão. This Prize had as its main objective to stimulate the production of poetry originals among young people and to honor a great figure of Portuguese poetry, born in Olhão.

The competing students had to write two unpublished poems, written in Portuguese, of their own, in free form. As a background theme they had to use the verses of João Lúcio: «Oh my ardent, impressionist and soft Algarve, / My lazy beauty asleep in the sun».

Among more than two dozen participants, the winners, who received monetary prizes of 75 €, 100 € and 200 €, respectively, were Moira Premoli (3rd place), Natacha Fernandes (2nd place) and Diogo Damásio (1st place). The two young girls awarded are CBR students, a reason of great pride for this educational institution that promotes creativity and poetic enjoyment.
