On January 11, Years 7-9 embarked on a trip to Lisbon, to visit the Assembly of the Republic and get to know the heart of Portuguese Democracy.
The students had guided tours of the São Bento Palace, in which they got to know the different rooms of the Assembly and their museum heritage, as well as the imposing Sala das Sessões and Sala do Senado.
They were also in contact with the Deputies Luís Gomes, Ofélia Ramos and Rui Cristina, who spoke with the students about their work as Deputies. Our Head of School Francisco Ferreira Bento also joined the students during the visit.
At the end of the afternoon, the students attended a plenary session, in which they observed how the debates in Parliament between the Deputies of the different parties and the Government take place.
Colégio Bernardette Romeira extends an enormous thank you to the team of the Assembly of the Republic and to the Members of Parliament who accompanied us through this very enriching experience.
