Students Natacha Fernandes and Pedro Cruz, as deputies, and Graciela Camacho, as a journalist, will participate in the National Session of the Assembly of the Republic on April 16
th and 17
th, representing the district of Faro in the presentation of the projects approved in the District Session, under the theme of Gender Equality.
The meeting of one of the Youth Parliament Commissions (on the 16
th) will be broadcast live on Canal Parlamento/Parliament Channel - ARtv on cable and DTT TV. The meetings of the remaining Commissions (on the 16
th), as well as the Plenary Session (on the 17
th) will be recorded and broadcast live, on the web-TV platform of Canal Parlamento. The "
Youth Parliament" program is an Assembly of the Republic (AR) initiative aimed at young people in enrolled in Basic School levels that culminates on a National Session in the Assembly of the Republic.
The Youth Parliament aims to:
- Encourage young people's interest in civic and political participation;
- Stress the importance of the citizens' contribution to the resolution of issues that affect their present and the individual and collective future, making their proposals heard before the organs of political power;
- To make known the meaning of the parliamentary mandate and the decision-making process of the Assembly of the Republic (AR), as a representative body of all Portuguese citizens;
- Encourage the ability to argue in defense of ideas, with respect for the values ??of tolerance and the formation of the will of the majority.
